Whims of Outlook 2007
It is common knowledge that the Outlook 2007 e-mail client is “temperamental” when it comes to programming e-mails and the management of images which they contain.
Background images, animated gifs, formulas, styles… all of these specific items are no longer usable in Outlook 2007 and everyone is well aware of this.
However, we have observed such abnormal and illogical behaviour in Outlook 2007 that we are wondering if it might be a bug!
In a 2-column e-mail structure with several identically sized images in one column, the 4th or 5th image effectively disappears from the e-mail’s structure, leaving a blank frame displayed!!
The solution for avoiding this problem is to slightly reduce the size of the image so that it doesn’t take up the entire width of the column. And don’t forget to do the same with all the other images in order to keep the e-mail’s design consistent.
This phenomenon doesn’t only occur in Outlook 2007.
So is it a justified limitation or a bug…?
